Project One

  • This signature Dda design has mid-century modern influences with expressive volume and massing throughout. Long vistas are used in the interior and exterior of the home. Horizontal flows are offset with vertical materials as well as functional but decorative screening walls which filter light and promote privacy. An engaging and rational design center the interior on a stairwell, the heart of the home from which all directions and vantage points flow including spaces hidden from direct view, like the home office. Orientation on the property creates light-wells and empty space. Heritage trees are maintained alongside new landscaping. The concrete driveway provides a progressive entry where a division of small planters create a secondary walkway. Outside living space is attached to the back of the home and rests beneath a heavily structured second floor room, as if the walls extend to the edge of the steps below. The seamless exterior transition emerges between views of the interior extending outward.
